Animal Care and Adoption Counselor

About the Organization:

The Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts is a new non-profit organization that has formed to continue to serve the animals and people of the community.

The Mission of the APCSM is to operate an open admission animal care and adoption facility, with focus on prevention of cruelty to animals, education and outreach, low-cost spay/neuter programs and helping animals and people in the community.

Job Description:

Ensure that the general public is treated respectfully, and that appropriate information with regard to animal related situations/issues is communicated effectively. Will ensure that quality care is provided for all shelter animals in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts. This is a full time position.

Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Customer Service experience preferred
• Strong communication skills
• General animal handling skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Computer knowledge is a plus
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and also independently
